TA145 / TA165 RIVING KNIFE (SEE OPTIONS)
The Startrite TA145 / TA164 Riving knife has 2 options.
The teeth on circular Saw blades are staggered, meaning that they are wider than the rest of the blade. When choosing a riving knife, you want it to be thicker than the width of the center of the blade, but thinner than the width of the staggered blade teeth. (The width of the staggered teeth is known as the “Kerf”, and is the width of the cut your saw will make.)
For example if your blade is 1.5mm wide in the center, but has a 2.5mm wide Kerf, than a 2.0mm riving knife would be correct for you.
